Humboldt-Institut Schloss Freudental (Business)
Princely German learning -- a treat!
School
The Humboldt-Institute is a non-profit organization and has been the best address in Germany for learning German as a foreign language for three decades. One of the 18 Humboldt-Institute centers in Germany is in Schloss Freudental. Schloss Freudental is a lovingly restored Baroque building from 1699 magnificently located between two legs of the Bodensee (Lake of Konstanz). Its elegant ambiance, tasteful decorations and beautiful stucco ceilings, the fantastic panorama view of the lake and the gentle, rolling hills make the Humboldt-Institute one-of-a-kind in Germany, an exclusive center for international executives.

Travel
The easiest way to get to Konstanz is via train to Konstanz, Allensbach or Radolfzell. From there, there is a free shuttle to the school. If you must fly, the closest airports are Friedrichshafen, Zurich and Stuttgart. We would be happy to arrange a private transfer for you (see Additional Costs / Notices for prices).
leisure time
Allensbach has approximately 7'100 inhabitants and is located about 15 minutes by car from Konstanz on the western shore of the Bodensee (the Lake of Konstanz). With its 536 square meters it is the third largest lake in Central Europe and is lovingly referred to as the "Schwabian Sea" by the locals.
Richenau Island is across the lake; where one can enjoy a long walk along the promenade with its beautiful view of this world cultural city. A ship commutes between the mainland of Allensbach and the island several times a day.
The large Benedictine monastery and the other well restored churches of the island illustrating the monastic architecture from the 9th to 11th Centuries are popular sightseeing spots.
Further east is the historic city of Konstanz.
The unique location between the Bodensee and the Swiss Alps, the expansive old town with its winding alleys and magnificent catherdral, the culturally rich areas, and last but not least, Mainau Island, which is owned by Konstanz, make Konstanz an attractive vacation destination.
Konstanz is a shopping town: a multitude of shops in which to browse, sidewalk cafés with their alluring Mediterranean ambience, and lovely courtyards for a cozy chat.
One can find art and culture in Konstanz, too: the oldest running theater in Germany showcasing the city troupe with a wide variety of productions of the classics from every century, as well as modern and fantasy performances. If there is any expectation of Performing Arts from Konstanz, it is of its Philharmonic Ochestra: the Southwest German Philharmonic is renowned throughout the region.
The school regularly arranges for free time activities and excursions. The program includes visits to the theater and concerts, wine bars, the gardens on Mainau Island or a tour through the historic and architecturally rich old town of Konstanz.
Horseback riding, golf in Langenrain (2 km), sailing, swimming, tennis in Allensbach (5 km) - the list of sporting activities goes on and on. In winter, one can ski in the Alps or cross-country ski nearby.
