Hobart is the capital of Tasmania with 200'000 inhabitants and an attractive and multicultural city. It is situated at the bottom of «Mount Wellington» where the «Derwent River» flows into the Sea. With its pleasant climate it is an ideal place for studies and starting point for all kind of excursions into the wilderness of Tasmania. Hobart has also a big and charming harbour which is the scenery for the famous «Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race». This is mainly due to the fact that the clean waters around Tasmania are perfect for sailing.
Tasmania has also spectacular national parks, of which some can be found in the list of "World Heritage Areas". A perfect place for hiking, rock climbing or river rafting.
